Beat, sub-titled Silent Planet Records Compilation 2.0, is a multi-artist compilation featuring various American singer-songwriters, independently released on Silent Planet Records in 2001. It was a follow-up to Aliens and Strangers: A Compilation from Silent Planet Records released by Silent Planet in 1999. Silent Planet’s stated goal is albums that are “acoustically grounded, lyrically intelligent, and spiritually provocative.”

A collection of the best singer-songwriters of today, including Pierce Pettis, Brooks Williams, Jan Krist, Terry Scott Taylor, and Phil Madeira, plus the hit single “The Darkest Hour” by Jane Kelly Williams.
