Description
A Taste of Eternity is the sole album by the American pop duo Spurr & McNeil (Cathy Spurr and Debbie McNeil) of Tamarack fame, released on A&S Records in November 1984, a sub-label of Maranatha! Music, distributed by Word. The album was recorded by Gordon Driver – assisted by Mike Ross and Wally Grant – at Weddington Studios in North Hollywood, Whitefield Studios in Santa Ana, and Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, California; with Jeff Lams producing and arranging. Mixed by Bill Schnee assisted by Dan Garcia at the Bill Schnee Studio in North Hollywood.
A non-album track entitled “Walkin’ Again” was featured on the multi-artist sampler Back to the Rock #2 released on A&S Records in 1983.
Spurr and McNeil’s ‘A Taste of Eternity’ (A&S Records, 7-100-92-084-1) is an aural delight, punchy, glossy, and never too sweet. «Glory to Glory» and «Wounded Healer» are first-rate pop songs. Debbie McNeil and Cathy Spurr are even better vocalists, especially together. [Bob Darden, CCM, March 1985]
