Description

Sailin’ is an album by the American gospel singer and songwriter Shirley Caesar, released on Myrrh Records in 1984, a division of Word. The album was produced by Shirley Caesar, Sanchez Harley, and Dave Lehman. Arranged by Sanchez Harley. Featuring covers of “Star Of The Morning”, a song written by Leon Patillo and originally recorded on his 1981 release Don’t Give In, and “Sunday’s On The Way”, a song written by Carman and originally recorded on his 1983 release by the same title.

Shirley Caesar is backed by a session band featuring Loris Holland on keyboards and synthesizer, Doc Powell on guitar, and a rhythm section consisting of Jesse Boyce on bass and James Stroud on drums, with Mel Owens providing percussion.
