Now this is more like it! This 1983 recording features stronger material altogether and definitely where the man is best – in concert. It opens with «The Well», a stomper, and includes «Yahweh», an Israeli style slow-but-getting-quicker song. There’s a crackling atmosphere to the gig, and whole experience is uplifting – a mixture of corporate worship and performance, and not without a neat line in humour. A million miles away from ‘Some-O-Dat’. This is alive. The title song is outstanding, and if you can’t catch Carman in concert in the flesh, then adding this album to your collection will be an alternative which, if not capturing the full flavour, provides a healthy taste.
