Big Star Logistic is the full-length debut album by the American rock band The Rock ‘n’ Roll Worship Circus (later renamed The Listening), released on Sovereign Productions in 2001, distributed by Grassroots Music Distribution.

Isn’t this a great name for a band? The kind of name that makes you want to check out the music. The interesting thing is that this is not irony because the R&R Worship Circus really are a worship band but this is no Hillsongs outfit; here’s a team that push back the barriers. Imagine catchy songs with a guitar driven glam rock tip and you have it. The band come from the north west of the USA and perhaps carry with it some of the edge that we associate with the region. Whatever the reason, there’s energy pulsating out of the grooves of this album on tracks like the groovy «Party Song», which is about the heavenly feast which awaits us in Heaven. The memorable «The Blood Of Jesus», with its straight forward singalong chorus, is another standout song. On a quieter note, «Open The Gates» is an invitation for God to move, built around an acoustic guitar, a straightforward melody and plenty of interesting vibey effects. Overall ‘Big Star Logistics’ sounds to me like one of the great albums of 2001 and has already earned a regular spot on the Rimmer CD player. [Mike Rimmer, Cross Rhythms, September 2001]
