In Three Persons

Description

In Three Persons is an album by the American contemporary praise & worship combo Lovelite, independently released on Come And Lives in June 2012. The album was produced and recorded by Tyler Chester at Paper Chaser Studios with drums and piano recorded at Signature Sound as well as Hume Lake Recording Studio. Additional recording by Daniel Gonzales and Tyler Halford. Mixed by Allen Salmon.

Featuring Jen Polfer on vocals and keyboards; Andrew Polfer on vocals and acoustic & electric guitars; Adam Taylor on electric guitars; Brandon Burr and bass; and Dan Bailey and drums and percussion. Also featuring producer Tyler Chester on acoustic & electric guitars, acoustic piano, keyboards, additional bass, and percussion, as well as programming. Drums on track 2, as well as additional drums on tracks 9 and 14, provided by Darla Hawn. Electric guitars on track 2 provided by Jonathan Hall.

An album which brings together three EPs released to celebrate each person of the Trinity, this is the album which is extending Lovelite’s reputation beyond Southern California to the rest of the USA. What they’ve done is bring a much broader sweep of musical influences into modern worship than most worship aggregations who today stick far too close to the Coldplay stylistic template. So on ‘In Three Persons’ we have a hint of Depeche Mode on «King Of Love», a song that Lovelite’s Andrew and Jen Polfer re-wrote recently with the aid of the renowned Phil Wickham while there’s a bit of an Arcade Fire influence on the moody «Every Breath Is A Chance». But Lovelite are much more than musical magpies plucking sounds and styles from decades of pop rock history. With the aid of producer Tyler Chester and some intelligent songwriting they’ve succeeded in delivering an album that not only draws the listener into worship but sounds good on the radio. I was particularly blessed at the song addressing the least worshipped member of the godhead, the Holy Spirit. On «Sand And Stone» Jen sings “You gave us a gift/ By sending us a ghost/ To bring us peace/ When we need it most/ Come in and dwell/ By making us your home/ Soften our hearts/ And bring strength to our bones.” A heart-stirring album.
