Description

Your Dying Day is the debut album by the American progressive power metal band Haven, released on R.E.X. Music in 1990, distributed by Spectra Distribution. The album was recorded at Morningstar Studios in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; with Doug Mann and Paul Krueger producing. Pre-production by Doug Mann and the band.

Besides sporting one of the best album covers to ever grace a Christian metal album, this young band comes roaring out of New Jersey with a credible collection of power metal in the vein of Barren Cross and Sacred Warrior (or Iron Maiden and Queensryche). The song «Escape» is a monstrous double bass attack that shows the good songwriting capabilities of the band. The only weakness on the album is in some ways a plus: each song travels in the same direction as the next. This lack of diversity creates a definite cohesiveness, but makes the album drag.
