Description
The self-titled debut album by the Swedish hard rock band XT (vocalist Sonny Larsson of Motherlode fame and guitarist Björn Stigsson of Leviticus fame) was released on the Swedish gospel label Viva Records in 1992, and in the US on Frontline Records, as well as in Japan on Zero Corporation the following year. (The band name comes from the Greek name of Christ using the two letters X-T (ΧρισΤος).) The album was recorded and mixed at Eagle One Studio and POL Music Studio with the band producing.
RE-ISSUE PROMO
Originally released by Frontline Records in 1992, XT quickly established itself as one of the standout Christian melodic hard rock albums of its era. Built around the exceptional guitar work of Björn Stigsson, known for his work with Swedish metal legends Leviticus, and the soaring vocals of Sonny Larsson, the album delivers memorable melodies, arena-sized choruses, and a message of hope that continues to resonate more than three decades later.
For this definitive vinyl collector’s edition, the album has been retitled XT – MCMXCII, using the Roman numerals for 1992 to distinguish it from the band’s other self-titled releases while honoring the year of its original release.
Jointly released by Retroactive Records and Melodic Passion Records, this deluxe edition has been newly remastered by Rob Colwell and pressed on stunning Blue Vinyl. It also includes a full-size 12″ x 12″ lyrics insert, making this a premium presentation of a classic Swedish melodic hard rock release.
From the instrumental opener «Toccata» through melodic rock favorites such as «Looking for Love», «All Your Love», «White Knight», and the powerful anthem «Standin’ for Jesus Christ», XT – MCMXCII remains an essential album for fans of classic European melodic hard rock.
