Description
Real 2 Reel is the third and final album by the American rock band Solid Rock, independently released by the band on Interdesign Records in 1986.
Solid Rock features Jerry Johnson on lead vocals and keyboards, Scott Jay on keyboards and vocals, Stan Mathis on guitar and vocals, Kevin Bartel on bass and vocals, and Larry Percy on drums, percussion, and vocals.
Solid Rock from Oklahoma and Follower from Austin, Texas both produce solid AOR-styled rock in the tradition of Petra, and are more or less successful at forging their own identity in a quality package. Solid Rock sounds a touch more like ‘Beat the System‘ with their emphasis on synths and technologically dependent hooks, while Follower forges more of an upbeat rock sound with solid guitars, straight-ahead lyrics, and good energy to carry them across. [Brian Quincy Newcomb, CCM, November 1987]
