Blind Faith is the sophomore album by the American rock band Legend Seven (formerly known as Legend only), released on Word Records in 1993. The basic tracks of the album were recorded by Marc DeSisto at Quad Studios in Nashville, Tennessee; with Bubba Smith producing. Mixed by DeSisto at Kiva Recording Studio in Memphis, Tennessee.
Lead singer Andy Denton would later form Identical Strangers.
What becomes Legend most? Well, changing its name (due to a possible legal conflict) to the slightly different Legens Seven, for starters. However, more than the name is different on the band’s sophomore release. A year’s worth of road work reveals the band to be even tighter as musicians and much improved as songwriters. On ‘Blind Faith’, Legend Seven has fully integrated the late-’70s rock vibe (ala Free, Foreigner and Bad Company) which was a bit too obvious on its debut. «Burning Desire» shows off all of Legend Seven’s strengths – Andy Denton’s improved vocal delivery, Randy Ray’s solid, melodic bass runs, William’s facile stickwork and Mike Jacob’s terrific guitar hooks and crisp lead runs. The harmonies are tighter than ever as well, with all four members gelling as a vocal unit. Though it’s Jacobs and Denton who will draw the most attention, it’s the cohesiveness of Legend Seven as a band which makes ‘Blind Faith’ such a fine follow-up. [Bruce A. Brown, CCM, February 1994]
