Double Single [Cassette single]

Description

Double Single is a cassette single featuring two tracks – “Double Cure” and “Earth Has No Sorrow Heaven Can’t Heal” – by the American folk-rock/alt-country combo Vigilantes of Love fronted by singer-songwriter Bill Mallonee, released on Warner Resound in 1996 (catalogue number 9 17582-4). Both tracks were taken from the band’s compilation album simply entitled V.O.L. released on Warner Resound the same year. Both tracks written by Bill Mallonee. (“Double Cure” was previously unreleased while “Earth Has No Sorrow Heaven Can’t Heal” was taken from the band’s 1992-album, Killing Floor.)

The hymn-like “Double Cure” reach No. 1 in the CCM market, and was as well nominated for a Dove Award in the Modern Rock/Alternative Recorded Song category. (“Double-Cure” actually was a song requested by Warner Resound and aimed specifically at the CCM/bookstore market.)
