Description
Played Naked is a live album by the American rock band The Seventy Sevens, available as a part of the 2CD re-issue of Echos O’ Faith, released on Lo-Fidelity Records in June 2012. The original Echos O’ Faith CD release was limited to 1000 copies and pressed in monophonic sound. Remastered and re-issued as a double disc containing the original Echos O’ Faith album on one disc (recorded at Echoes of Faith in Ontario, California; November 28, 1992) and a second disc entitled Played Naked featuring additional live recordings by The 77s (recorded at Echoes of Faith, Ontario, CA, December 1991).
‘Played Naked’ is an audio-document capturing the accidental origin of the “77s unplugged” concept and ‘Echos O’ Faith‘ is the year-later follow-up concert – this time intentionally unplugged, with Steve Hindalong providing percussion. The whole story is wonderfully detailed in Roe’s liner notes. Both shows are well-recorded, raw documents featuring a decidedly enthusiastic audience (at Ontario’s Echoes of Faith Church – get it?) cheering on The 77s, equally adrenaline-fueled in their more stripped-down mode.
