Hurricane is the debut album by the British worship combo The Hudson Taylors (singer/songwriters Noel Richards, Brian Houston, and Wayne Drain), released on Kingsway Music in 2002.

J. Hudson Taylor, 1832 – 1905, became the first missionary to the interior of China when as a teenager he heard from heaven the message ‘Go for Me to China’. He trusted, obeyed and the rest, as they say, is history. Noel Richards, Brian Houston and Wayne Drain have collectively called themselves The Hudson Taylors not only to honour a man who heard from God and acted, but to take the same message as Taylor and share it to the world through their own musical giftings. Together they have been on a journey that has taken them to far off fields and they may well be coming your way. Look out for them as they travel, but for now let the hurricane blow and taste the sounds of ‘The Hudson Taylors’. [A note printed on the back of the CD case]

Named after the first missionary to venture into China, The Hudson Taylors comprise of Noel Richards, Brian Houston and Wayne Drain who have done a Travelling Wilburys and pulled their collective resources to produce a refreshing album of new material. A raw and spontaneous energy is sustained throughout, mainly due to Houston’s gritty vocal delivery as showcased in the overwhelmingly powerful «Where You See Bones». Fans of Noel will love the contemplative «If I Seek You» and other standouts include the title track and Houston’s «You Are Mystical» – very much a song of praise with a difference. ‘Hurricane’ should whet your appetite for all three artists whilst standing in its own right as a great album.
