I Know You Love Me [Maxi-single]

Description

I Know You Love Me is a song by the American Chicago-based pop punk band the Smoking Popes, released as the first single from their 1997 album Destination Failure. It was the band’s final release for Capitol Records. The lyrics of “I Know You Love Me” reference singer and guitarist Josh Caterer’s newfound interest in Christianity (which was explored further on the sole release by his side project Duvall). The song was recorded, along with the rest of the album, at the Chicago Recording Company and at Conway Studios in Hollywood with producer Jerry Finn and recording engineer Phil Bonnet.

“I Know You Love Me” was released both as a 7-inch single and as a 10-inch single with the album track “Paul” and a live recording of “Need You Around” as B-sides. A music video was filmed, but the song failed to chart.
