Description
Extra Play is a seven-track mini-album by the British dance oriented funk pop group Kaja (a.k.a. Kajagoogoo), released in the US on EMI America in 1984. It features five of the tracks from the band UK album Islands, plus two bonus remixes. It peaked at No. 185 on the Billboard 200. On the U.S. edition, the version of “Turn Your Back on Me” was different from the original UK version, having been remixed by Steve Thompson and Michael Barbiero. This remix was released as a single in the U.S., and reached No. 2 on the dance charts.
Bassist/vocalist Nick Beggs would join the British progressive rock/Celtic fusion band Iona for a couple of albums in the mid 90’s before returning to solo work.
