Description

Go is an album by the American gospel singer and songwriter Shirley Caesar, released on Myrrh Records in 1982, a division of Word. The album was recorded by David McKinley, Norbert Putnam, and Robert Jackson at Woodland Studios in Nashville, Tennessee; and was produced by Tony Brown with Shirley Caesar co-producing. Mixed at Woodland. String arrangements by Lloyd Barry and Sanchez Harley.

Shirley Caesar is backed by a session band featuring Bobby Emmons, Clayton Ivey, Michael Mathis, Shane Keister, and Tony Brown on keyboards, Reggie Young on guitar, and a rhythm section consisting of Bob Wray on bass and Larrie Londin on drums, with Farrell Morris sitting in on percussion. Backing vocals provided by The Shirley Caesar Singers, Donna McElroy, Vickie Hanson, and Evonne Hodges. The title track is a cover of a Leon Patillo song originally recorded on his 1981 Myrrh release Don’t Give In.
