Face the Music is an album by the Dutch modern soul combo Lose To Win, released in the UK on Marshalls in 1984, distributed by GMI Records. The album was recorded and mixed by Danny Schubert at Studio Spitsbergen in Zuidbroek, Netherlands; with Michiel Hoogenboezem producing.

Featuring Marcel Macnack on lead vocals (as well as guitar and bass), Ton Snijders on keyboards, Rene Rasing on guitar, Gerlof Langeveld on bass, Duncan Macnack on drums, and Ed Nelstein on percussion. Additional vocals by Ida Macnack, Mieke Snijders, and Reina Van Essen.

Amazing Modern Soul Gospel AOR band from Netherland created by black & white guys combined amazing sounds in both styles remind me for one side to all power of Cedric Joseph or Reggie DeVaughn and for the other hand there is things with amazing Jazzy AOR fusion things similar as Pål Thowsen or Lava.

The 80s saw a number of [Dutch] bands who made some impact, but few of them have lasted the distance. One band who stood out above the rest was the Theo Lens Band in the early 80s who even played Greenbelt. The band’s release Turning Point got some rave reviews, and though Theo and his multi-racial band gave some sizzling performances with their funky pop, the lack of recognition and the tiny market in the Netherlands left Lens disappointed. He subsequently left the music scene.

Other artists strived for and secured a record or CD deal then disbanded soon afterwards. Lose To Win for instance, with a similar musical style to the Theo Lens Band. However, the band was too big to exist in the Netherlands. Frontman Marcel McArthur continued as a solo artist. His solo album ‘Face the Music’ was released Stateside by Refuge. In the late 80s Marcel McArthur released another solo album called ‘Don’t Turn Around’.
