Crazy Stories

Description

Crazy Stories is the debut album by the Australian born, American based pop duo Serene & Pearl (sisters Serene Campbell and Pearl Barrett – later known as Considering Lily) was released on Forefront Records in August 1995, distributed by Chordant Distribution Group. Marketed and distributed by Alliance Music in Europe. The album was was produced by Produced by Phil Naish for Naishing Teeth Productions.

Legend has it that teenage Australian duo Serene & Pearl followed their best friend Rebecca St James to Forefront Communications Nashville HQ and managed to get signed to the label after singing live in an executive’s office! The sort of crazy story that could be reflected in this album’s title. Their debut album is confident, upbeat and well produced acoustically tinged pop showcasing Serene & Pearl’s blend of pure harmonies which sweep and swoop throughout the album. From the wonderful opening humour of «Still Have To Love You» through beautiful songs like «Deep Water» and the reflective feel of «Gone, Gone, Gone» and the truly wonderful «Everything», this is excellent pop music. A solid start which should see Serene & Pearl taking CCM’s high speed elevator to the top of the block. Get this and get in on the ground floor. [Mike Rimmer, Cross Rhythms, June 1996]
