Description
Father’s Son is the tenth studio album the American singer, songwriter, and guitarist Pierce Pettis, officially released on Compass Records in January 2019. (Compass was pressing pre-release copies of Father’s Son exclusively for attendees of Pettis’ live shows from September through the end of November 2018.) The album was recorded “live on the floor, with the band, with minimal overdubs, to create the energy authenticity of the sessions.” Produced by Garry West.
Features a cover of “Look Over Your Shoulder”, a song written by Mark Heard and originally recorded on his 1991-album, Second Hand, as well as a cover of Jesse Winchester’s “A Showman’s Life.”
