Description
Life Pages (Love of the Ages) is the third album by the American singer and songwriter Karen Lafferty, released on Maranatha! Music in 1980, distributed by Word. The album was produced, recorded, and mixed by Jonathan David Brown at Whitefield Studios in Costa Mesa, California; July – August 1980. “New Mexico Song” features vocals by Danny Daniels of Bethlehem fame.
Karen Lafferty is probably best known as the composer of «Seek Ye First». ‘Life Pages’ is her third album, in which she beautifully and simply expresses her thoughts and feelings about the people and places that have become a part of her life – a little girl in Haiti, her New Mexico homeland, Amsterdam and, of course, Jesus.
While not as compelling as her superb Sweet Communion LP, ‘Life Pages’ is nonetheless a warm and mellow listening experience. Karen’s fluid voice and the light country feel of the music gives authenticity to her messages. On the whole, a pleasant, pleasing album.
(Best cuts: «Every Life’s A Story», «Jasmine», «My Life Is Yours», «Love of the Ages».) [CCM (What’s New), January 1981]
