The Bridge

Description

Everlasting Love is an album by the American contemporary gospel singer and songwriter Anthony Evans, released on EMI Gospel in 2008. The album was produced by Anthony Evans and Nathan Nockels.

Anthony, the son of minister Dr Tony Evans, is attracting a lot of attention with his smooth velvet vocals. This is his third album, the first for EMI Gospel, and the focus here is on worship. Contained here is «How Great Is Our God», Matt & Beth Redman’s «Blessed Be Your Name» (driven by a beat that will get your feet moving) and a beautiful version of Tim Hughes’s «Here I Am To Worship» which just oozes praise. The last two tracks on the CD are self-penned and move away from the worship style to more introspective writing. «The Way You Love Me» and the acoustic «Meaningless» demonstrate that Anthony can also write great songs and is not just an interpreter of other people’s work. He pens a pretty good lyric or two here. Check out “I’m breathing but I can’t survive/ I’m living but I’m not alive” highlighting that we need God in our lives. This recording will open new doors to this gifted artist. [Stephen Luff, Cross Rhythms, May 2009]
