Satisfied is the debut album by the Anglo-American folk/pop duo Dave & Dana (husband and wife, Dave Price and Dana Lee Price), released in the US on Bradley Recording Company in 1975. The album was produced, recorded, and mixed by Joe Bradley. Featuring Dana on lead vocals and Dave on guitars (classical guitar, twelve string guitar, slide guitar and electric guitar). The album includes fives songs written the British singer and songwriter Lou Hayles of Meet Jesus Music fame, as well as covers of “Three Crosses” written by Roger Hurrell and the Lawrence Reynolds and Jack Cardwell classic, “Jesus Is A Soul Man”.

For this, our first album, we have tried to pick songs which clearly communicate our firm Christian beliefs and, at the same time, reflect our Anglo-American background.

“Every Night” and “Satisfied” are traditional Appalachian folk melodies which reflect the beautiful simplicity of much of the mountain music. “Jesus is a soul man” is a more modern piece that completes the trio of songs composed in the U.S.A. The rest of the songs on the album are by contemporary English composers. Five of these compositions are by Lou Hales, a young woman who has been given a remarkable talent for musical interpretations of aspects of her own search for spiritual fulfillment and for pointing the way so that others might follow. “Three Crosses” was written by Roger Hurrell, who has long been one of the most able and perceptive Christian songwriters in Britain. In these days of apology, where clever eloquence sometimes masks the essentials of the Christian faith, it is refreshing to find, in this song, a clear statement of man’s need to decide how he is going to react to the meaning of the events on that Judean hillside.
