River of God’s Mercy is an album by the American singer and songwriter Barry Woods, independently released on Holy Kiss Records in June 1978, manufactured and distributed by Hartsong Corporation, California. The album was recorded by Travis Turk at Ironside Studios in Nashville, Tennessee; with Randy Matthews producing for Holy Kiss Productions. Mixed by Turk and Matthews at Ironside Studios. Arranged by Matthews and the Grammy Award winner Randy Goodrum (who also played keyboards on the album). All songs written by Barry Woods except “Fadin’ Away” and “Prarie Riders” co-written with Randy Matthews.

Randy Matthews produced, sang backup, and co-wrote a couple songs on this light rocker’s statement. Countryside manner with titles like «Desperado With The Devil» and «Prairie Riders». No orchestration, instead relying on the natural blend of electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards, bass, drums and percussion. Features ten original songs. On the collectible Holy Kiss label. Easy to picture this one in the mid-70s Maranatha or Myrrh lineup. [Ken Scott, The Archivist, 4th edition]
