Diller & Anderson

Description

The self-titled debut album by the American country-rock duo Diller & Anderson (Ronald Diller and Steve Anderson, both formerly of Radiance) was self-released on DNA Records in 1983.

Shining example of country rock done right. Ronald Diller and Steve Anderson are at their peak when they’re setting their sights back toward the good-natured ‘70s rural sound of groups like Pure Prairie League and the Flying Burrito Brothers. Such moods are best displayed on cuts like «Hearts A Fire» and «Annabelle». The guitar riffs are first-rate, often rippling along with the fluidness of Dire Straits. «Makebeliever» is a strong harder-edged track – is that a snatch of «Hotel Califomia» in there? Independent production from Salem, Oregon. [Ken Scott, Archivist]
