Description

The Stretch Goal Singles is a two-track digital-only single by the American americana combo The Ascendants, Kickstarter-funded and independently released by the band on Altimeter Records in October 2023. As the title says, the two recordings were “stretch goal” singles, made during the band’s Kickstarter campaign for their full-length album The Fellowship of the Broken, independently released in October 2023.

The single features two tracks; a cover of the Talking Heads classic “Once In A Lifetime” (feat. Leigh Nash of Sixpence None the Richer fame) – recorded and mixed by Stephen Leiweke with band members Steve Hindalong and Phil Madeira producing – and a cover of the Bruce Cockburn classic “Lovers In A Dangerous Time” from his 1984-album, Stealing Fire.
