Original Sinner is the sixth solo album by the American singer, songwriter, session musician and producer, Phil Madeira, Kickstarter-funded and independently released by Madeira on Mercyland Records in August 2016. The album was produced by Phil Madeira. Mixed by Todd Robbins. Front cover artwork by visual artist Wayne Brezinka.
One of two Phil Madeira releases in 2016, Original Sinner combines raw blues guitar, slinky rhythms, and the amazing musicianship of Will Kimbrough, Dennis Holt, Chris Donohue, Bryan Owings, Michael Roe, David Mansfield, David Miner, the Barber Brothers, and the McCrary Sisters, as well as the Madeira daughters, all adding up to an amazing journey through the shadows and light that is the blues. 14 original songs plus a cover of Blind Willie Johnson’s “Soul Of A Man”.
