Description

The Brightest Star is a collaboration single by the American indie rock bands Vekora and Poor Old Lu, self-released in December 2014. Music and lyrics by Scott Hunter.

The single was recorded by various band members – Aaron Sprinkle, Jesse Sprinkle, Brian Moore, and Scott Hunter – and was mixed by Aaron Sprinkle.

The track features three original members of Poor Old Lu – Scott Hunter on vocals, Aaron Sprinkle on electric guitars (on the bridge), and Jesse Sprinkle on drums, percussion, and acoustic guitar – and all four members of Vekora – Alexandra Wendt on vocals, Kurt Schmidt on electric guitar, and Brian Moore on bass and Rhodes (Jesse Sprinkle of Poor Old Lu is the fourth member of Vekora).

Written in late 2011, «The Brightest Star» was intended to be a simple Christmas song retelling the story of our amazing Savior who came into a busy, distracted, and weary world. If we don’t look up, we may just miss the perfect gift of heaven.

This recording is a collaboration of Vekora and Poor Old Lu.
