What You Think I Am (Reimagined) [Digital single]

Description

What You Think I Am (Reimagined) is a digital-only single by the American alternative rock band The Choir, feat. guest vocals by Leigh Nash of Sixpence None the Richer fame, independently released on the band’s own label Galaxy21 Music in January 2020. The single is a remix of a track from the band’s 2014-album Shadow Weaver.

More than a remix, this reimagined version of «What You Think I Am» by Grammy nominated band The Choir now features Leigh Nash (multi platinum band Sixpence None The Richer) on duet vocals. WYTIA rides a jagged guitar riff while addressing hero worship and the rush to judgment in the social media age. A powerful, hooky horn arrangement and a fluid, muscular bass line propels the song with a hypnotic groove.

Nashville-based alt rockers The Choir have taken this song from their 2014 ‘Shadow Weaver’ album and reimagined it by inviting Sixpence None The Richer vocalist Leigh Nash to join Derri Daughtery at the mic. This is a brooding song which explains that the singer swings between good and evil with lines like “I’m a dedicated minister and a downright sinister man” and “I’m a good Samaritan and a very, very bad man” pushing the point across that we’re all flawed beings despite our best efforts.
