Description

“Whachersign” – b/w “Who Needs It” – is a two-sided 7-inch vinyl single by the American pop/rock duo Pratt/McClain (Truett Pratt and Jerry McClain), released on Reprise Records in September 1976 (catalogue number RPS 1373). The title track is a shorter version of a song included on the duo’s full-length album Pratt & McClain featuring “Happy Days” released on Reprise Records the same year, while the flip-side “Who Needs It” is the original track from the same album. Recorded by Phil Kaye, Howard Gale, and Roger Nichols at ABC Recording Studios in Los Angeles, California; with Michael Omartian and Steve Barri producing. Arranged by Omartian. Both tracks written by Michael and Stormie Omartian.

“Whachersign” originally was recorded by Michael Omartian on his 1975-album, Onward (an album later re-issued in the Christian music market as Adam Again).

In 2017 the Michael and Stormie Omartian written – and Omartian as well as Pratt & McClain recorded – song “Whachersign” (Pratt & McClain’s original extended promo only version, not their album version) was included on a sampler album entitled Too Slow to Disco, Volume 3, a mainstream compilation series of ’70s Westcoast Yachtpop.
