“Wondering Where the Lions Are” – b/w “Rainfall” – is a two-sided 7-inch vinyl single by the Canadian singer, songwriter, and guitarist Bruce Cockburn, released on True North Records in 1979, manufactured by CBS Records Canada Ltd (catalogue number TN4-147). A shorter edit of “Wondering Where the Lions Are” of length 3:04 was later released in the US by Millennium Records, manufactured and distributed by RCA Records. The track on the A-side was taken from Cockburn’s full-length album Dancing in the Dragon’s Jaws released on True North Records the same year, recorded and mixed May–June 1979 by Gary Gray at Manta Sound in Toronto, Canada; with Gene Martynec producing. The track on the B-side was taken from the Cockburn’s previous full-length album Further Adventures Of released on True North Records in 1978, recorded April-May 1978 by Ken Friesen at Eastern Sound in Toronto, Canada; with Gene Martynec producing for True North Productions. Both tracks written by Bruce Cockburn.

The single track “Wondering Where the Lions Are” reached No. 21 in the US, spending 27 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and was important in bringing Cockburn attention outside Canada.
