Jesus Is / Looking at God’s Son [7-inch single]

Jesus Is – b/w “Looking at God’s Son” – is a two-sided 7-inch vinyl single by the American vocal trio 2nd Chapter of Acts (the siblings Annie Herring, Nelly Greisen, and Matthew Ward), released on MGM Records in 1972 (catalogue number K-14298). Both tracks were produced by Buck Herring for Thistle Productions. “Arranged by the Holy Ghost.” Neither were album tracks. The title track was written by Edward Overstreet while the track on the flip-side was written by group member Annie Herring.

Both tracks were later included on the group’s 2CD box set entitled 20, released on Live Oak Records in 1992.

Trivia: 2nd Chapter of Acts’ first record deal was with MGM. The group never did finish a whole album with them though, but about eight songs were cut, some of which the public have never heard. The single track “Jesus Is” was actually recorded on Matthew Ward’s 13th birthday!
