This is a Condom Nation is the debut album by the American punk rock band Lust Control, self-released on cassette only in 1988, featuring a homemade cover. The album was engineered by Steve Allen and Paul LeMond with Allen producing.

Lust Control is Gene (a.k.a. Doug Van Pelt) on vocals, Stanley (a.k.a. Paul Q-Pek) on guitar, Duane (a.k.a. Maury Millican) on bass, and George (a.k.a. Philip Owens) on drums.

This is the first release by Austin’s Lust Control. At this point, the band was Doug Van Pelt of Heaven’s Metal magazine, Paul Q-Pek and Phillip Owens of One Bad Pig, and Maury Millican of the Paul Q-Pek Band, The Nation, and Maury & The West. They all played in the band anonymously with various masks covering their faces. The sound is sloppy garage punk with a metal edge. The lyrics were infamous for their extreme turn or burn stances judging everyone but a narrow band of extreme fundamentalist Christians. For example, «Apocalyptic Nightmare» is an attack on other fundamentalists that believe in the Rapture. I don’t believe in the Rapture myself, but this song still doesn’t make a solid point even though I agree with the conclusion. The music is fun to listen to, but the extreme lyrics get a bit grating, and you kind of get the feeling that the band thought they were really clever (like with the cassette title)… but didn’t get that everyone got their thought process quite easily. Still, punk bands of all belief systems have a tendency to be that way – you tend to just enjoy the emotion and attitude. A year later they released their second tape Dancing Naked. «Grace!», «Mad at the Girls», «The Big M», «You Make Me Puke», and «Grace Reprise» were re-recorded for their We Are Not Ashamed CD on Urgent Records in 1992, while the rest of the songs here were re-released as they are here on the Fun, Fun Feeling compilation on Blonde Vinyl Records in 1991.
