Description
All Four One is a cassette-only album by the American hard rock/metal band Armada, self-released in March 1986. The album was produced, recorded, and mixed by Mark Miller at Harvest Productions Recording Studio in Michigan.
The band features Rick Ledesma on vocals; Dave Dawdy on guitar; Randy Carlson on bass; and John Heald on drums and vocals.
I believe this is Armada’s first demo tape – the copyright information implies these songs were started in 1984, but released in 1986. They also have a two song demo from 1985, but I guess that was still older than this one? It seems this was a copy that was made later and sent in to The Cutting Edge in case they were interested in reviewing an older album. It refers to who “was” in Armada at the time. I see on Discogs that this was released on vinyl in 1986, and then re-issued by the band on CDR in 2001. Hopefully this album will see the re-issue treatment like 1987’s Frontline did – this is some serious quality hard rock / heavy metal. It was pretty much commercial heavy metal when it was released, but people like to change the rules of what is metal and what isn’t. «Witness», «Streetwise», and «Shelter» were the only songs here included on their Hope of Glory compilation.
