Be Encouraged is the debut album by the American contemporary gospel singer Vickie Winans, released on Light Records in 1987. The album was recorded at Monterey Sound Studios in Glendale and Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, California; and at Selah Studios in Detroit, Michigan; and was produced by Marvin L. Winans with Vickie Winans co-producing. Mixed June 1987 by Alan Abrahams and Charlie Paakkari at Capitol Studios in Hollywood, California. All song written by Marvin L. Winans except tracks A2 written by Dottie Rambo, A3 written by Jim Weatherly (with additional lyrics by Marvin Winans), B1 written by Darryl Hines, and track B5 co-written by Kevin Sutton and Marvin Winans.
