Ragamuffin: Music Inspired by the Motion Picture is a multi-artist movie soundtrack featuring songs composed by the late Rich Mullins (October 21, 1955 – September 19, 1997), released on Capitol Christian Music Group in July 2014. The soundtrack includes covers of popular Rich Mullins songs such as “I See You”, “If I Stand”, “Creed”, and “Calling Out Your Name” performed by various Christian artists such as Jars of Clay, Andrew Peterson, Derek Webb, Andy Gullahorn, Jill Phillips, Mitch McVicker, Sidewalk Prophets, Audrey Assad, Leigh Nash and more. As well including two never-before heard songs from Rich Mullins recorded in the early 1970s.

The ‘Ragamuffin’ movie is based on the life of Rich Mullins, a musical prodigy who rose to Christian music fame and fortune only to walk away and live on a Navajo reservation. An artistic genius, raised on a tree farm in Indiana by a callous father, Rich wrestled all of his life with the brokenness and crippling insecurity born of his childhood. A lover of Jesus and a rebel in the church, Rich refused to let his struggles with his own darkness tear him away from a God he was determined to love. As he struggled with success in Nashville and depression in Wichita, Rich desired most of all to live a life of honest and reckless faith amidst a culture of religion and conformity. Rich Mullins was killed in a car accident in 1997.
[Color Green Films with Kid Brothers of St. Frank Co. developed a full-length feature film, as well as a documentary, based on Mullins’ life and legacy. The feature film, titled ‘Ragamuffin’ finished filming in October 2012. It premiered in Wichita, KS, on January 9, 2014.]
