Description
Among the Ruins is an album by the American alternative pop duo Two Tru (Lauren Passarelli and Cindy Brown), self-released on Feather Records in 1989, distributed by Wizard & Feather Brown Productions. The album was produced by the band.
“Tell Me Your Idea”, a non-album track recorded and produced by Mark Heard, was featured on the multi-artist sampler album, Twelve New Faces, released on Myrrh Records the same year.
I can remember working on Among the Ruins. We were in this little condo with a half inch 8 tk, cueing all the midi tracks with a sync tone surrounded by all this gear. It felt like we were piloting a spaceship, it was fantastic. This was way before we had automation. So everything was mixed in real time. We programmed a drum machine cuz we couldn’t have live drums in there, and we invited friends over one at a time to add their bits during overdubs. Roland Users Group magazine said we were committed to creating great music with substance, Home & Studio Recording magazine said, super talent, recording dreams can become studio realities.
