He is Exalted: Live Worship is a live album by the American singer and songwriter Twila Paris, released on Integrity Music in 2005. The album was produced and arranged by David Hamilton for Hamilton Music Productions. Featuring 8 new songs, new versions of Twila classics “He Is Exalted” and “God Is In Control”, plus worship favorites “Days of Elijah” and “We All Bow Down”.
Over the last 20 years or so Twila Paris has had more number one records and won more music awards in Nashville than you can easily shake a stick at, and this album of (mostly) live worship makes it clear why – she is a hugely talented songwriter who sings beautifully and leads worship expertly. There are eight new compositions on this 12-track 63-minute CD (plus two prayers), and several of them («Hosanna», «Messiah» and «You Are Holy» in particular) promise to become as big as her classic «He Is Exalted» (a new arrangement of which is also included). Predominantly corporate worship offerings (there are only two “I” songs and numerous repeats of “holy” and “worthy”), the compositions are supported by skilful arrangements and a very solid band and choir. There are two non-Twila songs included, Lenny LeBlanc‘s «We All Bow Down» and «Days Of Elijah», and unfortunately the latter sits slightly incongruously in the middle of the album, disrupting the flow somewhat. This, however, is a minor quibble only as in just about every other sense this is an excellent album of its type that will retain Twila’s position at the forefront of Christian songwriting.
