Description
T57 is the fourth album by the American contemporary R&B/urban gospel trio Trin-i-tee 5:7, released on Music World Entertainment in 2007.
One might query why it’s been four years since the urban gospel sisters’ last album but ‘T57’ is definitely worth the wait. From the first pounding track «Listen» produced by Walter Milsap (Alicia Keys, Usher & David Hollister) the listener can be sure that quality sounds will ensue. Indeed the rest of this project not only follows suit but steadily turns up the heat with each track. There are a lot of fun songs to be enjoyed such as «God’s Triangle» and «Reflection» but it is in the more reminiscent sounds of «I Want To Go Back» where the group truly shine. The struggles endured by two of the group’s members in the wake of hurricane Katrina have made for an intensely personal album filled with both heart-wrenching emotion and joyful praise for God’s faithfulness. ‘T57’ boasts production by some of the industry’s finest, allowing for a sound comparable to the top R&B artists of today. However, their sound has a distinct power and soul, due not only to the quality of the music, but the extent to which each member has poured out their experience onto the record. If you are looking for R&B sung from the heart rather than driven by the cheque book then pick this up as soon as you can! [Ian Martin, Cross Rhythms, September 2007]
