Songs for a Nervous World

Description

Songs for a Nervous World is an album by the British alternative pop duo The Technos (Bev Sage and Steve Fairnie), released on Refuge Records in 1988, distributed by Spectra Distribution. The album was recorded by Doug Oberkirker at Grand Slam Studios in West Orange, New Jersey; with Joey Powers producing. Featuring “War: One Voice” written by Paul Field.

The first two tracks, “Friends & Frontiers” and “Dare To Dance”, are re-recordings of two older Technos songs (entitled “European Soldier” and “On the Boards”) featured on the multi-artist sampler Sticky Music Sneak Preview, a cassette-only effort released in the UK on Sticky Music in 1986. (“Dare To Dance”/”On the Boards” actually first appeared as “Mechanical Ballet” on the Casualtease album by The Techno Orchestra, released in the UK on Street Tunes in 1982.)

Songs for a Nervous World was Steve and Bev’s last album. They were not happy with the finished product and decided not to put out any more material that they both didn’t believe in.
