Psalms Alive III is a American multi-artist praise & worship project credited to The Maranatha Singers, released on Maranatha! Music in 1986, manufactured and distributed by Word. Also released in the UK. The album was recorded by Chris Taylor, Mark Heard, Wally Grant, Doug Doyle, and Bill Cobb with Tom Howard and Bill Batstone producing (except group vocals produced by Stan Endicott). Mixed by Chris Taylor. Track arrangements by Howard and Batstone. Choir arrangements by Howard and Endicott. All songs written, or co-written, by Tom Howard and Bill Batstone.
Featuring a session band consisting of Tom Howard on acoustic piano and keyboards; Smitty Price on keyboards; Hadley Hockensmith on guitar; Bill Batstone on bass and drum programming; Alex MacDougall on percussion; with John Mehler and Dave Spurr providing drum overdubs.
Over the last several years we have had the wonderful privilege of seeing an idea take shape and grow. Our aim has been to bring out the deep quality of worship and the broad spectrum of human emotions found in the Psalms, and to wed the text with heart-felt music, presenting it in such a way that encourages participation in the worship experience. Everyone should sing! We are very grateful for the enthusiastic response you have given to Psalms Alive and Psalms Alive 2.
With Psalms Alive 3 we welcome the Maranatha! Singers. It has been a real joy to see the Psalms come alive through their sensitive and powerful interpretation of each song.
