Description
Shake Me to Wake Me is the sixth studio album by the American singer and songwriter Steve Camp, released on Sparrow Records in 1985. The album’s basic tracks were recorded by Terry Christian at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California; with Steve Camp producing, assisted by Rob Frazier. Overdubs done at various studios in Hollywood – Sunset Sound, Bill Schnee Studios, Weddington Studios, and The Sound Factory – and as well at Bullet Recording in Nashville, Tennessee. Mixed by Christian and Camp at Sunset Sound. All songs co-written by Steve Camp and Rob Frazier except “Asleep In The Night”, a song written by Keith Green, originally recorded on his 1978 album and No Compromise.
Featuring Steve Camp on lead vocals, backed by a session band consisting of Alan Pasqua on keyboards, Dann Huff and Michael Landau on guitars (with solos provided by Landau and Dave Perkins), Neil Stubenhaus on bass, and Paul Leim on drums. Background vocals provided by Gary Pigg, Marty McCall, Rob Frazier, Carol Buckley, Susie Allanson, as well as Camp. Guest appearances on synthesizers by James Newton Howard, Smitty Price, and John Rosasco, with Jim Horn sitting in on saxophone.
