Description
Wild Imagination is the debut album by the American singer and songwriter Scott Krippayne, released on Word Records in 1995. The album was produced by Charlie Peacock.
On ‘Wild Imagination’ Scott Krippayne showcases a hybrid of musical influences. Combining elements of Brent Bourgeois, Eric Champion and Michael W. Smith with a voice at times reminiscent of Al Denson, Krippayne still manages to create a sound that is uniquely his own. Oh, and don’t forget about Charlie Peacock. As producer, his presence is definitely felt throughout.
Krippayne is already an accomplished songwriter with an uncanny ability to put a lyrical twist in a simple idea to give it a fresh rendering. Singing of putting Christ first, he emphasizes, “The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.” «I Will Love» stresses the importance of loving everyone because Jesus does. «Sometimes He Calms the Storm» is a beautiful ballad which reminds that God does allow trials to make us stronger while the title cut it a declaration of God’s “bigness.”
Armed with talent, Scott Krippayne’s musical future certainly looks bright. [David Bumgarner, CCM, December 1995]
