Description

Down to Business is the fourth album by the American singer and songwriter Roby Duke, released on Good News Records in 1989, manufactured and distributed by Word. The album was recorded by Gil Morales at Mama Jo’s Recording Studio in North Hollywood, California; and was produced by Roby Duke with Eric Persing and Win Kutz as associate producers. Mixed by Kutz assisted by Morales at Mama Jo’s. Arrangements by Duke and Persing. Half of the songs were co-written with Persing.

Featuring Roby Duke on lead vocals, as well as steel string guitar, acoustic piano and B3 organ; backed by an ace session band consisting of Richard Souther on acoustic piano, B3 organ, and synthesizer; Eric Persing on synthesizer; Paul Jackson Jr. and Marty Walsh on electric guitars; and a rhythms section featuring John Patitucci on bass and John Robinson on drums, with Alex Acuña on percussion; as well as Steve Tavaglione sitting in on saxophone and electronic wind instrument. Background vocals provided by Alfie Silas, Angie Alan, Bill North, Cindy Cruse, Don Wallace, Tim Miner, and Roby Duke.
