Steps of Faith 1987-1991 is a compilation album by the American singer and songwriter Margaret Becker, released on Sparrow Records in April 1992. Featuring selected tracks from Margaret Becker’s first four albums, along with one new song; “This Love”.
Best Of compilations come in all shapes and quality. But few have come along in recent years that will stay in the ‘to play’ CD-stack as readily as this gem. Margaret’s albums (you remember ’em: ‘Never For Nothing‘, The Reckoning‘, ‘Immigrant’s Daughter‘ and ‘Simple House‘) are exceptional, intelligent, sensitive, moving and hugely exciting examples of rock gospel and the tracks here have all become major Christian radio successes in the States. The compilation is set off with a new track (‘previously unreleased’ or specially-recorded-to-ensure-the-fan-has-to-purchase, I know not). But I can report that the song, «This Love» is a poignant mid-tempo cut and every bit as good as most of the other gems here. [Tony Cummings, Cross Rhythms, October 1992]
