Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Song is an instrumental album by the American pianist and producer/arranger/composer Kurt Kaiser, released on Sparrow Records in 1993. The album was recorded by Brent King at Scrimshaw Sound in Antioch, Tennessee; with Kurt Kaiser producing. Mixed by King at Battery Studios and Quad Studios in Nashville, Tennessee.
The album won a Dove Award in the Instrumental Album of the Year category at the 25th Annual GMA (Gospel Music Association) Dove Awards, held on April 28, 1994.
As composer, pianist, arranger or producer, Kurt Kaiser’s musical gifts have been formative in the growth of contemporary church music. Many of his compositions, like “Pass It On” and “O How He Loves Me,” have become much loved standards.
This collection of hymns and Christian music favorites provides a classic demonstration of Kurt’s interpretive flair and finesse. Each song features his engaging piano performance complemented by string quartet, vocal ensemble, flute, oboe and other instruments.
