Description
Tapestry, sub-titled A Collection of Songs and Solos for the Church, is the debut album by the British worship duo Keith & Kristyn Getty (on this album credited “Keith Getty and Kristyn Lennox”), released in the UK on Kingsway Music in October 2002. The album was produced by Keith Getty with Margaret Becker co-producing (and providing background vocals).
‘Tapestry’ is a collection of songs and solos for Churches and individuals touching on many of the key moments of the journey of Christian faith: where God is weaving an eternal masterpiece through our humble and stained lives. Inspired by many of the most well-loved passages of scripture, the songs express the great themes like finding faith, baptism, dedication to service and mission, love, evangelism, healing, transformation, re-dedication and Heaven. [Note printed on the back of the CD]
“Football…..bloody hell,” Sir Alex once famously mused. The game’s ultimate expert, bewildered by the sublime transcending the ridiculous, magic superceding the mundane, frantic footy creating something unique, partnerships making the finest poetry. For Alex, the game is still a mystery. So is this album. I want to slate it for its overproduction, but I can’t. I’d love to hammer Ms Lennox’s slick, Irish-American vocals as indulgent, but I won’t. Instead, I’ll celebrate, Fergie-style, the mystery of a fine album. What Keith and Kristyn have is a unique partnership. They are gifted, and poetry is what they produce together. For what it’s worth, the best song is «Look To The Lord», but, hey…all the songs are highlights. Bring on Bayern Munich. Add this to your collection. [Norman Smith, Cross Rhythms, January 2003]
