Description
As Long as There is Love is the sophomore and final album by the American singer and songwriter Keith Brown, released on Curb Records in October 1995, manufactured and distributed by Curb Records. The album was produced by Michael Lloyd for Mike Curb Productions. Arranged by Keith Brown and Lloyd.
Anyone who has followed music attentively, Christian or otherwise, has noticed that pure pop music is getting harder to find. There’s alternative pop, acoustic pop, dance pop, and the list goes on. But plain old pop seems to be going the way of the dodo.
Then along comes a songwriter/performer like Keith Brown. A former Dove Award nominee for New Artist of the Year, he writes the kind of pop that deserves the radio’s ears. Smooth, melodic, and chock-full of hooks without resorting to cliche melodies, ‘As Long as There is Love’ will appeal to the pop fans who have been disappointed by the late minimal growth in their CD collections. The new album shows a similar but far more mature style than did his debut album, ‘This Side of Heaven’. Lyrically, Brown covers familiar territory but manages to avoid using worn-out Christian-ese all over again.
‘As Long as There is Love’ will have fans of Chris Eaton and Breathe longing to hear more from Keith Brown. [Sean Taylor, CCM, January 1996]
