Greatest Hits is a compilation album by the American singer Kathy Troccoli, released on Reunion Records in 2003, manufactured and distributed in the US by Provident Music Distribution. Tracks 1 and 5 are new recordings.
One of America’s biggest CCM stars, Kathy hasn’t quite clicked big time with us Brits though there’s no denying Kathy’s class. This 14-song album features 11 of the recordings which made number one on US Christian radio plus brand new versions of «Stubborn Love» and «Holy Holy», produced by Brown Bannister who intriguingly enough produced the original tracks for Kathy’s ‘Heart & Soul’ album debut back in 1985. Kathy’s forte is the full throated power ballad of which the archetypal one is «Go Light Your World» which you’ll find terminally cheesy or deeply moving, depending on your perspective. If you haven’t got the albums ‘Pure Attraction’ (1991), ‘Kathy Troccoli’ (1994), ‘Sounds Of Heaven’ (1995), ‘Corner Of Eden’ (1998) and ‘Love Has A Name’ (2000) and like Kathy’s dramatic way with a ballad or a perky pop piece, check this out.
