A Time for Peace CD edition, Maranatha! Music 1986
The most improved elements on the CD release of ‘A Time for Peace’ are the synthesizers and percussion. The piano, as on the LP and cassette versions, still sounds a bit muted, but this actually enhances the solo piano tracks as a bit of the edginess and shrill midrange that seep into many piano recordings are played down. The two solo numbers «Be Still My Soul» and «Breath on Me, Breath of God» are given startling clarity by the digital transfer. The best Lams/Nash/Martin ensemble pieces, «Eye of the Storm» and «A Time for Peace», resound with synth/percussion embellishments that are given all the more detail on the compact disc. [Bruce A.
