Disappearing World

Description

Disappearing World is the sophomore album by the American indie rock band Fair, released on Tooth & Nail Records in February 2010. The album was recorded by Aaron Sprinkle, Randy Torres, and Erick Newbill at Compound Recording in Seattle, Washington; with Sprinkle and the band producing. Mixed by J.R. McNeely at ELM Studio South in Franklin, Tennessee.

Fair is Aaron Sprinkle on lead vocals, guitar, and keyboards, Erick Newbill on guitar, keyboards, and background vocals, as well as a rhythm section consisting of Nick Barber on bass and background vocals and Joey Sanchez on drums and background vocals.

The record that you are hopefully listening to, and the liner notes that you are now reading were started back in November of 2007. After a cross-country move, many trials, sessions, setbacks, and 2 of the most difficult and beautiful years that the 4 of us have ever experienced, it as completed in September of 2009.

Fair has been and will always be about the passion the 4 of us feel that God has given us to make music together. These songs were created and recorded in the midst of incredibly happy moments, and incredibly painful ones. What we found once again is that God meets us where we are at, regardless of our situation, and that the grace that he offers to us all is beyond comprehension. We hope you discover that too.

This second album from the US-based alternative rockers comes almost four years after their stellar debut, 2006’s ‘The Best Worst-Case Scenario‘. That album was very well-received and the four-piece, led by Aaron Sprinkle, who, of course, has become a big-timer producing albums for such Christian rock heavyweights as Anberlin and Kutless. With such calls on his time then it’s hardly surprising that it’s taken so long to get the second Fair album. It’s been well worth the wait. This is a fantastic album, packed with catchy, clever and varied songs that will make you want to listen and listen again. The album moves from fast, guitar based pop-punk like «One Last Time», to piano-led, atmospheric songs like the catchy opener and title track and the extremely memorable «Take Some Risks». With the varying styles and sonically satisfying, state-of-the-art production ‘Disappearing World’ is one of the most impressive projects ever to emerge from the talented Mr Sprinkle.
